When I see this type of art, the first thing that comes to mind are the colors! I'm already thinking abort how I'm going to use my watercolor pencils. They feel so smooth, it feels like the ink dances on the paper when I use water. I'm going to throw myself into the dragon's colors: maybe a very vibrant emerald green? And the princess?
